The Regenerative medicine & Cell therapy industrialization network of Kanagawa (hereinafter, ‘this Network’). is implementing the following measures for the purpose of personal information protection.

Regarding the handling of personal information, we will observe all relevant laws and regulations and other standards.
When personal information comes into our possession, we will identify and clarify the purpose of its use within the required limits for achievement of our business purposes, and do that by lawful and fair means.
We will take necessary and appropriate measures for safe management, such as against leakage of personal information and prevention of loss.
Where handling of personal information is entrusted outside the Company, we will conclude the required agreements and monitor them appropriately.
In response to a request for disclosure, correction, deletion etc. of personal information, we will take appropriate measures having confirmed the parties concerned.
Protection Law and other laws and regulations, efforts with respect to the protection of personal information must be continuously reviewed and improved.

Handling of Personal Information

Kanagawa Regenerative Medicine and Cell Therapy Industrialization Network (hereinafter referred to as “the Network”) shall handle acquired personal information in accordance with its Privacy Policy, ensuring proper management and making every effort to protect personal information.

Specifically, the handling of personal information shall adhere to the following:

1. Appropriate Acquisition of Personal Information
The Network shall acquire personal information within the necessary scope for conducting its operations, employing lawful and fair means.

2. Use within the Scope of Stated Objectives
The Network shall utilize personal information by relevant stakeholders in the minimum necessary scope to achieve the stated objectives communicated to the individuals concerned.

3. Outsourcing Handling
The Network may delegate all or part of its operations, entrusting the handling of personal information to third parties. In such cases, the Network will select parties meeting its established criteria as contractors and ensure the proper handling and supervision of personal information through contracts and adequate management.

4. Joint Use with Partner Organizations
The Network may jointly utilize personal information, such as names, company names, department names, phone numbers, email addresses, etc., with partner organizations during collaborative events or business activities. Similar to the handling of personal information within the Network, information acquisition and management will be conducted lawfully and fairly, within the necessary scope for operations.

5. Disclosure and Provision to Third Parties
Unless falling under the following exceptions, the Network will not disclose or provide personal information handled by the Network to third parties:

  1. (1) When consent from the individual is obtained.
  2. (2) When requested based on laws and regulations.
  3. (3) When outsourcing secretariat operations of the network.
  4. (4) When outsourcing operations related to the handling of personal information.
  5. (5) When necessary for conducting events or other activities with partner organizations for business purposes.
  6. (6) When necessary for the protection of life, body, or property of a person, and obtaining consent from the individual is difficult.
  7. (7) When a country, local public entity, or their entrusted parties need cooperation in implementing administrative affairs stipulated by law, and obtaining consent from the individual might impede the execution of said affairs.
  8. (8)When there are justifiable reasons such as permitted by law or other legitimate grounds.

6. Secure Management of Personal Information
The Network will appoint a Personal Information Management Officer responsible for managing personal information and will implement necessary and appropriate measures to prevent leakage, loss, damage, misuse, alteration, unauthorized access, and ensure proper management.

7. Appropriate Response to Requests from Individuals
Regarding personal information handled by the Network and records of third-party provision of personal information, the Network will, in accordance with the law, reasonably respond to requests for disclosure, correction, or cessation of use made by the individuals concerned.

8. Inquiries Regarding Handling of Personal Information
The Network has established a contact point for inquiries regarding the handling of personal information and will endeavor to respond appropriately and promptly.

9. Compliance with Laws and Regulations
The Network will comply with Act on the Protection of Personal Information and other related laws and regulations, guidelines, and the provisions for the protection of personal information in the entrustment agreement concluded between the Network Secretariat and Kanagawa Prefectural Government.
